New League Schedules Out

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Team sports are starting league play much earlier than previous times. Hopefully this will result in less globs of highly skilled teams like we’ve seen in the ending parts of previous seasons.
So now you’ll have to really keep up with your training to make sure you are one of the best!

New Tennis Tournaments Available

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

The existing tournaments all filled up, so I added one new tournament per week to spread the players around.
I guess lots of new people are playing!

New Training Mechanism

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

For the team sports (Except football and hoops 2) the daily training has been changed, removing some of the crazy Javascript that was going on there and making it more straightforward. Hopefully it’s compatible with everyone’s browser now.
Please let me know if you have any trouble.
Good luck!

Playasport Popularity Campaign

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Traffic on the site is up about 33% in the last few weeks. Not surprisingly this is mostly because of the Figure Skating game and the winter Olympics. But can someone explain to me why the Alexa traffic ranking is DOWN 150,000 spots in the last 3 months?
I guess it’s just that nobody who […]

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

If you are a tennis manager and you want to track certain players or your friends, you can now create a private league of your own to track the information.
Just go to your player detail page and there’s a bright green link to create the league.

I also made some changes to the site template, so let me know if you have any trouble.
Lastly, I’ll be experimenting with the ads on the site. If something is overly annoying, comment here too.

Monday, February 6th, 2006

The game is called Smallball Baseball (Smallball Soccer is also out, but save that for later on). Smallball baseball is an amazing mix of 2d graphics, and an awesome community. The basic concept is that you download a small 8mb client for your computer. On this client is everything you need to […]

“How do I play the games?”

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

This is a very common question and I might have taken for granted that people understand how the site works all this time. So here’s how it all works for those of you who are interested.
As a user, you’ve probably already set up your teams and/or players. This tells the system you’re ready to go. […]

Tennis Aging Fixed

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

Thanks to a feedback message from acorpuz, the tennis aging process has been modified. Previously, players would age one year at the beginning of each season. However, managers who created a new player at the end of the previous season would then start with a player that was 19 years old instead of 18.
So now, […]
